Description of the theft
Thief scaled locked fence and cut lock for bike in enclosed outside patio during the night of Aug 13/early morning Aug 14 around 7th and Sherman in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Bike was covered and locked to stair railing on patio. Bike’s identifying features include a seat taped up in the back, a right grip that has had its end ripped off, and a cracked right gear shift. The bike also had a compass bell and light on the handlebars and a red light under the back seat, but these may have been removed. When stolen, the bike was unable to switch gears. Bike is from 1994 or 1995 and is a dark green Trek mountain bike, most likely the 1994 830 SHX model, but could also be a 1994 9800, 1994 or 1996 820, or 1996 930. Full bike photos are from online and not my own, but represent what the bike looks like.
