Theif had been staking out the bicycle and property for a few weeks.

After owner arrived at residence following a long night ride, owner was unloading Saddle bags and other accessories from the bicycle. Bicycling partner was assisting and before locking the bike, and still unloading, the suspect trespassed onto private property, only feet away from owner and partner.He quickly grabbed the bicycle and jumped on it; riding it off the property and heading westbound towards downtown with owner chasing on foot for at least two blocks.
Bicycle theif originally appeared to have been heading eastbound and after stealing the bicycle he fled towards the opposite direction.
