Bicycle detail

At 3am someone came up onto our front porch where the bicycles were locked to the railing. They attempted to cut a U-lock on one bicycle but couldn't (there are scratches on it), then went to the two bikes that were locked up with one heavy cable. We know the time because my husband was awake and in the living room, and heard the fence close as they left. They must have had a car/truck, because they were gone by the time he got to the front door, and one of the bikes had no pedals. The second bike was about 5 years old and we don't have proof of ownership anymore.
