Description of the theft
The bike was locked just north of the University of Chicago bookstore to a bike rack among many other bikes just before 9 am and seen again at 11:50. Upon returning at 6:45 the bike was gone. The cable that was used to secure it was cut and on the ground, along with the helmet that had been locked to the bike.
